Film photography

Why film belongs at your event

Film brings a different texture to a photograph. Alongside digital coverage, it offers another way to remember a wedding, birthday or gathering.

It looks like a memory

Real grain, warm color and soft highlights make candlelight glow and skin look like skin. The photos feel timeless the day you get them.

A slower approach

We enjoy the pause that comes with making a photograph on film: taking in the light, the people and the small details around them.

Every frame is chosen

With a limited number of frames on each roll, we take care with each photograph: a toast, a hug or a look across the table.

Digital and film, together

Digital gives us flexibility as the day unfolds. Film adds a different character. We plan the balance with you before your session or event.

Our $1,500 wedding option includes digital photography and film. For other events and sessions, ask about film options. We confirm film quantities, processing and delivery details before booking.

Weddings & events

Thoughtful coverage for celebrations, from the people at the center of the day to the small moments around them. We’re new to professional event photography, and our introductory prices reflect that.

Weddings: $1,000 digital · $1,500 with film included

Wedding coverage runs from the bride getting ready through the reception. We agree on the day’s timeline, the photos you’ll receive and any additional costs before you book.

Portraits & families

A little time together, somewhere that feels like you. We aim for a comfortable session with simple direction and room for natural moments, at an agreed location in Sacramento or Placer County.

Each session is one hour · $100 total

A few helpful details

What are your photography prices?

Digital wedding photography is $1,000, or $1,500 with film included. Portrait and family sessions run one hour at $100 per hour ($100 total). Other events are $100 per hour. We agree on the plans, deliverables and any additional costs with you before booking.

Are you new to event photography?

Yes. We have enjoyed photography for years and are now beginning our professional event work. Our introductory prices reflect that stage. The gallery shows our personal and everyday film photography so you can get a feel for our work.

Where do you photograph?

We serve Sacramento and Placer County and travel to your venue or an agreed location. Share the address or area when you inquire. We confirm travel arrangements and any additional costs before you book.

What is included, and when will we receive our photos?

Wedding coverage runs from the bride getting ready through the reception, with the day’s timeline agreed before booking. Portrait and family sessions last one hour. We confirm edited-photo delivery and turnaround before booking. For film, we also agree on the number of rolls and processing details; development and scanning take additional time.

Can we meet you before booking?

Absolutely. We’re happy to arrange a FaceTime introduction so you can meet us, ask questions and talk through your plans before booking. Inquiring through our website is the best way to get started.

Can you include film?

Yes. Our $1,500 wedding option includes film alongside digital photography. For other events and sessions, ask about film when you inquire and we will confirm options and pricing.

Meet Dante & Matt

Matt Green

Photography has been part of Matt’s life for years, a way to notice and remember the people and moments around him. Encouragement from photographers he knows helped him decide to take it more seriously. Through Oak & River, he’s turning that longtime interest into work with couples, families and people celebrating together.

Dante Quilici

Dante has enjoyed making photographs for years and is now putting that interest into a more intentional practice. After encouragement from photographers he knows, he and Matt decided to build Oak & River together. He brings care and curiosity to each session as they begin their professional event photography journey.
